The obstacles to my ambition is that there is not a guarantee of a huge audience for my work, and when there is, not everyone is bound to enjoy what I have created. 9. I think that money is necessary for life, but it is not the root of joy and happiness. I take a role of power very seriously, as I think that most people are trying to get as much power as they can in this life. I think praise, when it is due, is very healthy. I personally feed off of words of affirmation. I think that rivals are a good thing to have, as long as it is not a personal attack on the other person. As long as you are able to keep the rivalry on the business, then it is not a bad thing. I think that work and play go together as there definitely is a time to work, but you should reward yourself with time to do things that you enjoy. There is no point to only work as overworking is a real thing. 14. Which artists do you admire most? I admire musicians probably the most. Does anyone in your life regularly inspire you? My best friends always do inspire me on a regular basis as they know me best and I am able to see them work hard and see their successes in their life. 18. When confronted with superior intelligence or talent, how do you respond? I quickly find a way that I am better than them and I expose it. That sounds harsh but it is not intentionally a personal attack. 19. When faced with stupidity, hostility, intransigence, laziness, or indifference, how do you respond? I get annoyed when people around me do not have the same passion for the activity at hand that I do. 20. When you work, do you love the process or the result? I like the process, but I also love the reactions that I get from an audience for a final result of a project. 21. At what moments do you feel your reach exceeds your grasp? 1. What is Adobe Illustrator?
Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor developed and marketed by Adobe Inc. Originally designed for the Apple Macintosh. It can be used as a tool to create things that can be cut out by a laser, or many other of design projects. 2. Explain what you learned during this unit. I learned how to create a template for laser cutting. I was able to make a snowman, by putting shapes together, and make my own template using text and an image that I found. 3. What was most interesting? The most interesting part was watching the laser cut the wood perfectly how I wanted it to. I was also interesting to see how fast the laser worked. 4. What was most challenging? The most challenging part of the project was making the shapes fit together. I had to cut some of the shapes, because if they overlapped, then the snowman would have cut out in different places and would not have been in one piece. 5. How could you apply any of this to anything else in your life, now or in the future? I definitely could use the things I learned from this project in the future, as creating something like a coaster or a sign or a little key-chain could be used to create small gifts for people for the holidays. I am glad that I am able to use these machines, as I now know how to create things. 6. Include photos of both projects you created. You may use the Snipping Tool to capture a screenshot of your design in Illustrator. I was not able to get a final photo of the projects because they were gifts for others, but attached is a screenshot of the design. 1. Explain what you learned regarding using fonts, colors, and shapes in graphic design.
I have learned about creating logos in InDesign. I have also learned about the different meanings that fonts, shapes, and colors have for the audience. The different fonts that are used can make the audience get a certain feeling about. The same goes for colors and shapes of the logo. 2. Why do these elements matter? These elements are crucial to making the audience feel a certain way about your brand. If you want the audience to feel safe the you will use cured shapes and cooler colors. The opposite can be true if you want to excite the audience with vibrant colors and sharp edges. 3. What was most interesting? The most interesting thing that I learned was how the companies that are in the same brand use the same colors and designs. 4. What was most challenging? The most challenging part of the project was actually creating the logo in InDesign. But after some trial and error, I was able to create the logo that was wanted. 5. How could you apply any of this to anything else in your life, now or in the future? I want to go into social media management, so this topic can definitely help me in the real world, as I will need to create designs and make my audience feel a certain way about what ever company I am working for. 1. Explain the FRA Photo Collage assignment.
The FRA Photo Collage assignment is an assignment where we are to go find objects around campus that appear like they spell letters. I was assigned to spell "Good Morning FRAmerica". This is what I came up with. 2. What was most interesting? The most interesting was looking for letters in spaces that you did not think that letters would appear. 3. What was most challenging? The most challenging part was actually the same as the most interesting part of the project. As I was searching for letters, sometimes it was hard to find the letter that I needed. 4. What is your favorite letter? Why? My favorite letter is the "O" in Morning. This is from the lights of the new Weicker Center Dining Hall. It is quite interesting. 5. What is your least favorite letter? Why? My least favorite letter is the "G" in Good. This was the hardest letter to find and I tried to use my imagination. 6. How could you apply any of this to anything else in your life, now or in the future? I can use Photoshop when I need to edit photos for potential future businesses and the actual Good Morning FRAmerica. 7. Include the final collage image. Save each as a JPG in order to be able to upload it to Weebly. For this last post of the year, I was asked to interview one of my mentors at FRA. I chose my advisor and created a video with the interview and some pictures. For this post I was asked to interview my classmates and give a picture and caption. I interviewed Claire, Jaden, J, Steve, Justin, Edgar, Irelan, and Walker.
For this post I was asked to make the opposite of a motivational poster, a demotivational poster. I chose to talk about bad friends. For this Creativity Challenge we were asked to use a drawing and finish it how ever we wanted while still incorporating the image. The first image is the image we had to incorporate. The second image was my final picture. |
